1. About These Terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Alexandra Fellowes/Alexandra Celebrant (“the Celebrant”, “I”, “me”, “my”) and all clients (“you”, “your”) who book celebrant services through this website or directly.
By booking my services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Services Provided

Services may include:

  • Funeral and memorial ceremonies
  • Wedding ceremonies
  • Naming ceremonies
  • Renewal of vows ceremonies
  • Bespoke ceremony writing
  • Planning meetings and consultations
  • Ceremony delivery and officiation

Each ceremony is individually written and tailored to the client’s wishes.

Please note:

  • I am an independent celebrant and not a registrar.
  • Legal marriage requirements in England and Wales must be completed separately through a licensed registrar if required.

3. Bookings & Deposits

A booking is confirmed once:

  • A booking form or written confirmation has been received, and
  • The agreed deposit has been paid.

Dates cannot be reserved without a deposit.

Deposits are non-refundable as they secure your ceremony date and cover preparation work.

4. Payments

The remaining balance must be paid no later than:

  • Weddings and vow renewals: Prior to submission of draft of Ceremony
  • Funerals: Within 7 days of invoice date.
  • Naming ceremonies: Prior to submission of draft of Ceremony

Payment methods accepted:

  • Bank transfer
  • Cash

Late payments may result in cancellation of services.

5. Cancellation Policy

By the Client

If you cancel:

  • Deposits are non-refundable.
  • Additional fees may apply if substantial work has already been completed.

For weddings and vow renewals:

  • Cancellation within 30 days of the ceremony may require full payment.

By the Celebrant

In the unlikely event I must cancel due to illness, emergency, or circumstances beyond my control:

  • All payments received will be refunded, or
  • With your agreement, I may help arrange a suitable replacement celebrant.

My liability is limited to the amount paid for services.

6. Changes to Ceremony Details

I will always do my best to accommodate changes to ceremony content, timings, or venues.

However:

  • Significant changes requested close to the ceremony date may incur additional charges.
  • Availability for rehearsals or additional meetings cannot always be guaranteed.

7. Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate information
  • Review ceremony drafts carefully
  • Obtain any permissions required for venues, music, readings, or photography
  • Ensure legal marriage requirements are completed separately where applicable

The client is responsible for ensuring all information provided for the ceremony is accurate.

8. Photography, Video & Testimonials

With your permission, photographs or testimonials may occasionally be used on my website or social media for promotional purposes.

No personal information will be shared without consent.

You may withdraw consent at any time.

9. Copyright

Ceremony scripts written by me remain my intellectual property.

Clients may keep personal copies for private use, but ceremonies may not be reproduced commercially or published without written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

While every effort will be made to deliver services as agreed, I cannot be held responsible for:

  • Venue issues
  • Weather conditions
  • Technical failures
  • Delays caused by third parties
  • Circumstances beyond my reasonable control

My total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the service booked.

11. Privacy & Data Protection

Personal information is handled in accordance with UK data protection legislation.

Information provided will only be used for:

  • Managing your booking
  • Communicating about your ceremony
  • Delivering celebrant services

Your information will never be sold to third parties.

12. Website Use
