Alexandra was recommended to us by our undertaker, Co-op Funeral Care and we (my family and I) met her about a week after our mum’s passing. Alexandra was warm and open and spent a good couple of hours with us all, listening to our stories about our Mum, Violet and making long, detailed notes. The service she delivered at Mum’s funeral was beautiful. From those couple of hours with us and her notes, she really captured Mum’s essence and told her life story flawlessly. My whole family commented on how lovely the service was and I took great comfort from re-reading her words of the service from the copy that she kindly sent me. I would thoroughly recommend Alexandra, she is just lovely and comforted us as a family enormously with her kind words and beautiful eulogy ‘Remembering Vi’. We will always be grateful to you, Alexandra, love from Shawn Biggs and family.

When my mum passed away and had chosen a direct cremation I personally felt devastated. I wanted the opportunity to say goodbye to her in the same way I had attended many previous funerals but it felt that this decision had taken that away from me.
Despite this, I accepted my mum’s wishes and we started to make arrangements initially for a wake.
However after a few days I remembered I had seen Alexandra a couple of months before and remembered she mentioned she was a celebrant. With that in mind I decided to contact her to see if she could help us to arrange a memorial service rather than a wake.
She was very warm and professional from the moment I contacted her. She came to my family home and spent a few hours with us hearing from family about stories of my mum, her life and the things that we would like included in her eulogy.
She then spent time putting the service together & allowing me to read & alter anything I wanted to. It was really lovely to have somebody who was open to suggestions and made us feel that this was our service, to have however we wanted.
We had our memorial service yesterday and it was absolutely beautiful.
Everybody who attended commented on how wonderful it was and what a lovely way to remember somebody and say goodbye to them.
Our family didn’t need to see our mum’s coffin in a crematorium, we got to celebrate her life in a venue she had spent time in, with all of our friends and family. The service was very personal & was delivered wonderfully by Alexandra. For anybody else in our situation with a direct cremation, please do think about doing a memorial service, it allowed us to have the service we wanted whilst respecting our loved ones wishes.

Thank you so much for the wonderful service you gave us yesterday for Martyn. It was a fitting tribute to a wonderful man. Everyone commented on what a lovely service it was!
The wake went well with everyone sharing their stories of Martyn – it was overwhelming to start off with as so many people there but also nice to see so many wanting to join us in celebrating Martyn’s life!

From myself and on behalf of Dee’s family I just want to once again say a massive thank you for the fantastic job you did for Dee’s service on Friday. You gave her the send-off we wanted and I have had so many positive comments about what a lovely service it was.
There have also been quite a few comments along the lines of “we never knew that about her!” or “she did WHAT??”, which really made it special for us (and, I’m not going to lie, gave us a bit of a much-needed laugh…)
